5 Tips On Sharing Resources From Your Workplace
The Rheaply network is built to connect like-minded people and communities to share resources. To be honest, your ability to trust may be a little too personal for us to help but you can always reach out to us!
In the mean time, we understand there is a certain amount of risk associated with sharing your equipment with colleagues and people you have not previously met. We get this question quite often and have come up with 5 tips to ensure that you feel comfortable sharing.
1. Share When You Want To!
Sharing workplace resources can only make sense for certain types of assets and workflows. If you don't think sharing an underused resource could work for you, that's alright! Rheaply is here to encourage and facilitate sharing but never make it mandatory.
2. Get It In Writing
We understand sharing your workplace assets can be like sharing your favorite toys. You don't mind letting others play with it but also don't want them to break it! When you feel this strongly, sometimes it helps to put fears at ease by drafting an responsibility agreement between two parties.
3. Choose Specific Departments and Parties
Rheaply provides an opportunity to reach many different partners inside and outside an organization. When you are creating a rental, be sure to limit your item for internal organizational use only. This is done by toggling the button under "Network" on, as seen below.
4. Set Up A Training session
We have actually learned this tip from our Rheaply community. In order to make sure people use your equipment properly, some members actively meet with people to whom they are renting their resources. This means there is never any confusion on how to use a piece of machinery and leads right into our fifth tip!
5. Opportunity To Connect To Colleagues.
Rheaply is all about connecting to your colleagues down the hall, across campus or especially the ones you have seen for years getting coffee but just can't remember their name! Rheaply to the rescue 😁
